Capcom has recently released a significant hotfix for Monster Hunter Wilds, version 1.000.05.00, which is now available across all platforms. This update focuses on eliminating progression blockers and addressing various bugs, although it does not include performance enhancements, as detailed in the patch notes below.
Despite its record-breaking launch, Monster Hunter Wilds currently holds a 'mixed' user review rating on Steam, primarily due to performance issues on PC. However, the game's success is undeniable, having sold an impressive 8 million copies within just three days of release, making it the fastest-selling Capcom game ever. It also achieved the fifth highest concurrent player count on Steam, peaking at 1,384,608 players, surpassing the peaks of Dota 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring. In comparison, Monster Hunter: World reached a peak of 334,684 players.
Looking ahead, players can anticipate a title update in early April, which will introduce a new endgame area for gathering and additional monster hunting content.
To aid players in navigating Monster Hunter Wilds, we offer resources such as a guide to what the game doesn't explicitly mention, a comprehensive overview of all 14 weapon types, an ongoing walkthrough, a multiplayer guide, and instructions on transferring your character from the open beta.
IGN's review of Monster Hunter Wilds awarded it an 8/10, praising the game for refining the series' mechanics to enhance the enjoyment of battles, though noting a lack of significant challenge.
