Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's January 9th Update Addresses Player Feedback and Implements Significant Changes
Treyarch has responded to player feedback by reversing a controversial change to Zombies Directed Mode in the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 update. This update also includes bug fixes for the Citadelle des Morts Zombies map and substantial buffs to the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod. Further bug fixes and adjustments are slated for the Season 2 update on January 28th.
The January 3rd update introduced changes to Directed Mode in Citadelle des Morts, notably extending the time between rounds and delaying zombie spawns after five looped rounds on round 15. This alteration proved unpopular, hindering kill farming and camo challenge completion. Player concerns about potential further restrictions on XP and rewards were addressed by Treyarch, who acknowledged the negative community response.
The January 9th patch notes confirmed the reversal of the Directed Mode spawn delay change. Treyarch emphasized their commitment to a fun and rewarding Zombies experience, stating the previous spawn delay alteration was unsatisfactory. The delay is now restored to approximately 20 seconds after five looped rounds. Additionally, various fixes were implemented in Directed Mode on Citadelle des Morts to resolve glitches and bugs impacting quest progression and stamp functionality. Visual glitches and crashes related to the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud were also addressed.
The Shadow Rift Ammo Mod received four significant buffs: Normal and special enemy activation rates increased to 20% and 7%, respectively; elite enemy activation rate (with Big Game Augment) increased to 7%; and cooldown reduced by 25%. These changes enhance the Ammo Mod's overall effectiveness.
The patch notes announce the commencement of Black Ops 6 Season 2 on January 28th, promising additional bug fixes and changes in an accompanying update. Players still have an opportunity to complete the Citadelle des Morts main quest and earn rewards before Season 1 Reloaded concludes.
