Remedy Unveils Updates on Ongoing Game Projects

Remedy Entertainment's latest annual report brings exciting news for fans, especially regarding the development of Control 2. The sequel has successfully navigated through the concept validation stage and is now in full production. This crucial milestone not only marks significant progress but also solidifies the commitment to bringing this much-anticipated game to life.

In addition to Control 2, Remedy is actively developing two more projects: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. Just a year ago, these titles were in the preliminary stages of production, but they have now progressed to more advanced development phases. However, the project Kestrel, which was a collaborative effort with Tencent, has been officially canceled and removed from the studio's roster since May of last year.

All these exciting projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has demonstrated its prowess in games like Alan Wake 2 and other studio endeavors. This engine's proven track record ensures that fans can expect high-quality gameplay and visuals across these new titles.

Regarding budgets, Control 2 is set with a hefty budget of 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by Remedy and is slated for release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC platforms. Meanwhile, FBC: Firebreak has a budget of 30 million euros and will be accessible through PlayStation and Xbox subscription services upon launch, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The remakes of Max Payne 1+2 continue to intrigue fans with their undisclosed budget, but they are confirmed to be AAA-level projects. These remakes are fully funded by Rockstar Games, covering both development and marketing expenses, ensuring a robust push when they hit the market.
