R.E.P.O., the 2025 horror game sensation sweeping the streamer community, throws players into a terrifying world teeming with unique monsters. Each creature presents its own set of challenges, demanding different strategies for survival. This guide details every monster in R.E.P.O. and how to best handle them.
All Monsters in R.E.P.O.
Animal
Threat Level: Low
The Animal is a fast but weak foe, easily dispatched due to its lack of aggressive retaliation.
Apex Predator (Duck)
Threat Level: Low
The Apex Predator poses no threat unless provoked. For an easy payout, lure it to the extraction zone and crush it with the piston.
Bang
Threat Level: Medium
True to its name, the Bang is a volatile, grenade-like enemy. Upon detection or attack, it rushes towards you and explodes. Safely dispose of it by throwing it into water, lava, or acid. Bangs can also be used to damage other monsters.
Bowtie
Threat Level: Low
Bowties emit a debilitating scream upon spotting a player, hindering movement and pushing you backward. While the scream itself is harmless, it can propel you into damaging obstacles. Exploit their slow speed and immobility during their scream for easy attacks. Sneak up on them when they're not looking.
Chef
Threat Level: Medium
The Chef's attack patterns are predictable. Upon sighting you, it jumps and slashes with knives. Dodge its attack to leave it momentarily off-balance, creating an opening for your counterattack.
Clown
Threat Level: High
The Clown is a formidable foe. It attacks with a height-adjusting laser beam and a charging melee attack. However, after firing its laser, it's briefly stunned, providing a window to escape or retaliate.
Gnome
Threat Level: Low
Gnomes often travel in groups and prioritize destroying loot over attacking players. Their weakness makes them easy targets; simply pick them up and slam them against a wall or floor.
Headman
Threat Level: Low
The Headman, a floating head, is largely harmless unless provoked by shining a light on it.
Hidden
Threat Level: Medium
The Hidden, a cloud of black smoke, grabs players, stunning them and causing item drops. Its ability to pull players toward other enemies is its greatest threat. Its elusive nature makes killing it difficult; hiding is often the best strategy.
Huntsman
Threat Level: Medium
The blind Huntsman relies on sound. It fires a shotgun upon hearing noise, potentially delivering an instant kill at close range. Its predictable patrol route makes avoidance relatively easy. Direct confrontation is strongly discouraged.
Mentalist
Threat Level: Medium
This alien-like, floating enemy activates an anti-gravity field, levitating nearby objects before slamming them to the ground. Its teleportation ability makes escape difficult. Melee weapons are effective, and other players can help by pulling you out of the anti-gravity field.
Reaper
Threat Level: Medium
The Reaper is slow, deaf, and doesn't chase far, making it easy to avoid. Ranged weapons are the preferred method of eliminating it.
Robe
Threat Level: High
Robe is a fast, aggressive pursuer. Direct eye contact triggers a frenzy, increasing its speed and damage output. Avoid looking at it and seek cover until it moves on. Direct combat is ill-advised due to its high HP.
Rugrat
Threat Level: Low
While seemingly harmless, Rugrat scavenges for items and throws them at players. It flees when empty-handed. Eliminating it requires multiple players to lift and smash it against a wall.
Spewer
Threat Level: Medium
This tadpole-like creature chases players and vomits on them. Latching onto a player causes periodic vomiting, potentially damaging nearby players or items. It can also damage enemies. Grabbing and shaking it causes it to flee.
Shadow Child
Threat Level: Low
Despite its creepy appearance, the Shadow Child is easily dispatched with most weapons due to its low HP.
Trudge
Threat Level: High
Trudge is slow but deadly. It pulls players towards it before striking with its mace, often resulting in an instant kill. It can also pull players from hiding spots. Avoidance is the best strategy.
Upscream
Threat Level: Medium
Upscreams usually attack in groups, grabbing and throwing players backward to deal damage and stun them. They're vulnerable to most attacks, but the tranq gun is particularly effective for stunning, grabbing, and slamming them.
