For completionists playing Pokémon TCG Pocket, the Promo Card section usually provides a satisfying sense of progress. Its concise list makes it relatively easy to complete. However, the enigmatic Promo Card 008 is currently disrupting this satisfying experience for many players.

The Appearance of Promo Card 008

The Promo Card section in Pokémon TCG Pocket appeared complete until a new, unobtainable card mysteriously materialized. Around January 2025, a new slot for Promo Card 008 suddenly appeared in the Promo – A Card Dex, creating a noticeable gap between Professor Oak (007) and Pikachu (009).

While the numbering suggests its existence predates its appearance as a blank space in the list, its recent visibility has left players eager for information on how to acquire it.

Unveiling Promo Card 008

Although currently unobtainable, clues about Promo Card 008's appearance exist. Accessing the "Related Cards" section (accessible via cards like Red Card 006 or Pokedex 004) reveals a greyed-out image of the card.

Accessing the card's information page confirms its unacquired status and indicates it will be "obtained from a campaign," similar to the New Year 2025 Pikachu card (Promo 026). This phrasing differs from cards obtained through missions or Wonder Pick events, suggesting a promotional giveaway tied to a specific event.

The exact timing and method of obtaining Pokémon TCG Pocket Promo Card 008 remain unknown. However, players hoping to complete their collection can anticipate its release soon. In the meantime, the option to hide unowned cards can alleviate the visual frustration of the empty slot.
