Indie game developer Sander Frenken has unveiled his upcoming RTS-lite game, Battledom, currently in Alpha testing. This title serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's popular 2020 release, Herodom. Developed over two years by the part-time developer, Battledom represents a refined vision of his original concept for Herodom.
Battledom features dynamic RTS combat, allowing players to freely maneuver units across the battlefield. Directly target enemies and manually control siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations enhance gameplay and add a layer of tactical depth.
Players amass armies using in-game currency, starting with basic, unequipped units. Strategic customization is key; equip units with a range of weapons and armor to boost their stats, impacting range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.
Resource gathering is essential. Players must collect materials like wood, leather, and coal within their village to craft these upgrades at the blacksmith, magician, or other specialized crafters.
Frenken's previous success, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating. This tower defense game features over 55 collectible heroes, 150 units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new character customizations, crops, and farm animals.
