Fresh from Pocket Gamer Connects London, we got hands-on with some exciting new games, and one that really stood out was the word-based puzzler, WordPix.
WordPix presents you with a series of images, and your task is to guess the corresponding word. Think "lizard" for a scaly reptile, or "capybara" for a certain large rodent. The core concept is straightforward, but it's a surprisingly engaging way to exercise your brain on the go.
To keep things interesting, WordPix offers a variety of game modes. You'll find solo and multiplayer options, plus "Beat the Boss" challenges for those who enjoy a good head-to-head against the AI. Daily challenges, including "Word of the Day" and "Quote of the Day," add an extra layer of fun, and there's even a Sudoku mode thrown in for good measure.
It's easy to see why WordPix caught our attention. It boasts a clean, user-friendly interface, a simple yet challenging core mechanic, and plenty of variations to keep you hooked. We're hoping to see even more content added as the game launches globally this year. Currently, WordPix is available on iOS in the US and UK, and on Android in the UK.
