In *BlazBlue Entropy Effect*, unlocking new characters is a unique process that involves collecting items known as Prototype Analyzers. These are essential for unlocking each new character, except for the paid DLC characters. Our comprehensive *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* character unlock guide will walk you through how to obtain Prototype Analyzers and provide a detailed list of all playable characters.
BlazBlue Entropy Effect: How To Unlock Characters
Your journey to unlock characters begins right after completing the tutorial, where you receive your first Prototype Analyzer. This initial step also includes a brief guide on how to use it. Head out of the Acer Program room through the passage to your right, and you'll find yourself in a room with a glowing platform. Interact with this platform to access the character selection menu, and choose the character you wish to unlock.
For unlocking additional characters, you'll need more Prototype Analyzers. Return to the same room and interact with the glowing platform again to select and unlock another character. Note that DLC characters, such as Rachel and Hazama (available as of March 2025), are exceptions. These characters unlock automatically upon purchasing and installing their respective character packs.
BlazBlue Entropy Effect: How To Get More Prototype Analyzers
*Entropy Effect* offers multiple ways to acquire more Prototype Analyzers, though each method requires some effort and time.
Progress the Story
As you advance through the story and complete training missions, you'll unlock gray skills. Reaching specific milestones in this process rewards you with Prototype Analyzers:
- Unlocking 10 gray skills
- Unlocking 20 gray skills
- Unlocking 40 gray skills
Additionally, without spoiling too much, completing a significant event later in the story will automatically grant you another Prototype Analyzer. Keep in mind that unlocking green skills via Potential does not reward Prototype Analyzers. Unless developer 91Act introduces more skills or alternative ways to obtain these items through story quests, you're limited to acquiring three Prototype Analyzers this way.
Complete Mind Challenges and Spend AP
Another method involves earning points through the Mind Challenge mode. You can then speak to the janitor to exchange these points, known as AP, for a Prototype Analyzer. Be prepared, though; each Prototype Analyzer costs a hefty 5,000 AP, and opportunities to do this aren't frequent.
BlazBlue Entropy Effect: All Characters
As of March 2025, *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* features a total of 12 characters, with 10 available in the base game and 2 additional as paid DLC. Here's a closer look at each character, excluding the DLC characters, which you unlock using Prototype Analyzers.
Ragna the Bloodedge
Ragna is a melee fighter with a unique twist. He specializes in close-range combat but gains power as his HP diminishes. His special feature allows him to sacrifice health for buffs and then siphon some of it back from enemies.
Jin Kisaragi
Jin is another melee fighter, known for his sophisticated swordplay and ice-based abilities. He can freeze opponents and, with well-timed combos, grant himself significant strength boosts and even confuse enemies with super speed.
Noel Vermillion
Noel excels in ranged combat. She can launch a barrage of missiles in any direction and has a unique ability to reduce her skill cooldowns. Additionally, her Over-Exhaust ability allows her to continue casting skills even after her MP hits zero.
Taokaka
Taokaka might struggle against stronger foes due to her lack of anti-armor abilities, but her versatility in build options compensates for this. She can deliver multiple hits and stack status effects with her Spinny Spinny attack, making her adaptable to various playstyles.
Hakumen
Hakumen embodies the tank archetype, with his slow yet powerful attacks and high durability. Successfully blocking attacks allows him to counter with reduced MP costs, and he can be equipped with midair attacks to handle different enemy types.
Lambda-11
Lambda-11 excels in both close and long-range combat. Her powerful skills continue to damage enemies even when she's not directly attacking, making her versatile in any combat scenario.
Kokonoe
Kokonoe is often seen as one of the weaker characters, requiring meticulous management of lasers and crowd control effects. However, with the right damage-over-time build, she can be highly effective.
Hibiki Kohaku
Hibiki is adept at evasion and crowd control. Although not the most powerful, his ability to avoid enemy attacks makes him a valuable asset in managing groups of foes.
Es
Es is exceptionally powerful, even without unlocking potentials. She can counter after dodging, evade well, execute mid-air combos, and utilize crowd-control abilities, making her a well-rounded character.
Mai Nastume
Mai has a high skill ceiling and can be challenging to master until you understand her combo mechanics. Her Heavy Attack is a standout feature, but her true potential lies in chaining combos for maximum damage and mobility.
Rachel Alucard
Rachel is overwhelmingly powerful, with speed and the ability to reset her dodge moves, making her nearly untouchable. Her wide-reaching abilities, including one that's almost impossible to evade and stuns enemies, make her a top-tier choice.
Hazama
Hazama requires strategic play due to his complex, input-heavy moves. While he has a steep learning curve, mastering him can make him one of the game's strongest characters.
This covers all the characters in *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* and how to unlock them. Remember, *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* is available now on PC.
