Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Developer Insists 'Everything We Have Talked About Is Still in Development'

Author : Jonathan Update:Mar 31,2025

Saber Interactive has reassured fans that all of its previously announced games are still in active development, despite the lack of updates on high-profile projects like the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) remake. Following the recent announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, Saber's Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, took to Twitter to affirm the studio's commitment to its projects.

"Saber Interactive is one of the largest independent developers in the world," Willits stated. "We are working on numerous games across many different genres. Everything that we have talked about is still in development. We will share information on upcoming games when we have something cool to share."

The most notable project mentioned by Willits is the KOTOR remake, which has been shrouded in mystery since its announcement in 2021. The project has undergone multiple changes in development teams, seemingly halted and restarted, yet after four years, it has yet to see the light of day.

In April 2024, Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch confirmed that the KOTOR project was taken with them during their split from Embracer Group and remains in active development. "It's clear and it's obvious that we're working on this," he stated at the time. "It's been in the press numerous times. What I will say is that the game is alive and well, and we're dedicated to making sure we exceed consumer expectations."

Willits' recent statement, nearly a year after Karch's comments, reaffirms the ongoing development of the KOTOR remake. However, fans are still left without any new visuals or updates beyond the initial announcement video.

In addition to the KOTOR remake, Saber Interactive is working on several other titles. John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park Survival are slated for release in 2025, though specific dates have not been announced. The studio is also developing a new Turok game and an untitled Avatar: The Last Airbender project.

With the addition of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 to their lineup, Saber Interactive continues to expand its portfolio. For more details on what to expect from Space Marine 3, including potential chapters and enemy factions, be sure to check out IGN's comprehensive article on the subject.
