Rockstar, the masterminds behind the iconic GTA series, have just released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, this update is a welcome surprise for fans, though it's exclusive to mobile and not available on consoles or PCs.
Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!
Bully: Anniversary Edition has been enhanced with new language support and a focus on improving stability and fixing bugs. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to ensure smoother gameplay.
The update also introduces Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) for Android users on compatible devices, refreshes the app icon, and adds haptic feedback for both Android and iOS platforms.
Several mission-specific issues have been addressed. For instance, in the mission 'That Bitch,' the difficulty in picking Mandy's locker has been resolved. Similarly, 'Weed Killer' now progresses correctly even if the window is broken prematurely. In 'The Rumble,' police cars no longer glitch through the floor.
Additionally, the update corrects instances where enemies wouldn't attack Jimmy, which previously made combat feel unbalanced. It also tackles crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.
What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?
The gaming community has long clamored for Bully 2, but it appears Rockstar's focus has shifted to other projects. Rumors of a sequel in development during the 2010s were dashed when resources were redirected to Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online.
With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects for Bully 2 seem slim, especially considering many of the original developers have moved on from Rockstar. While the Anniversary Edition update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it's a significant upgrade for mobile gamers.
For newcomers, Bully is Rockstar's unique take on a schoolyard sandbox game. You step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old troublemaker navigating the challenges of Bullworth Academy. The game is infused with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world antics.
You can dive into Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, with full gamepad support for an enhanced gaming experience.
