Captain America: Brave New World is making history as one of the shortest films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and the shortest Captain America film yet. Clocking in at a brisk one hour and 58 minutes, it joins a select group of MCU movies under two hours long, ranking as the seventh shortest out of 35 films.
This contrasts sharply with the previous three Captain America films, all of which exceeded the two-hour mark. While most of the shorter MCU films hail from Phases 1 and 2, a few more recent additions have also kept a tighter runtime. In fact, the shortest MCU film, *The Marvels* (2022), runs just one hour and 45 minutes. Others in this shorter club include *The Incredible Hulk*, *Thor: The Dark World*, *Thor*, *Doctor Strange*, and *Ant-Man*. *Brave New World* shares its runtime with *Ant-Man and The Wasp*.
At the other end of the spectrum, *Avengers: Endgame* holds the title of longest MCU film at three hours and one minute, followed by *Black Panther: Wakanda Forever*, *Eternals*, and *Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3*.

Despite its upcoming February 14th release, *Brave New World* has reportedly undergone extensive rewrites and reshoots, including scenes featuring WWE star Seth Rollins. The impact of these changes on the final runtime remains unclear.
This film marks a new era for the Captain America franchise, starring Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson following Chris Evans' retirement as Steve Rogers. Mackie promises a continuation of the series' grounded, espionage-driven narrative. The film is also expected to feature some deep-cut Marvel characters, including a payoff to a tease from *The Incredible Hulk*, introducing The Leader and Red Hulk.
