FromSoftware Sends Elden Ring: Nightreign Playtest Confirmation Emails
Excitement Mounts as Elden Ring: Nightreign Playtest Invitations Arrive
On January 30th, 2025, FromSoftware announced via Twitter (X) that confirmation emails for the Elden Ring: Nightreign network test had been dispatched. Excited fans quickly shared their confirmations, expressing their anticipation and gratitude for being selected.
Those fortunate enough to receive confirmation will receive a follow-up email on February 11th, 2025, containing a unique code to download the Network Test client for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Registration for the test ran from January 10th to January 20th, 2025. Unfortunately, FromSoftware has not yet indicated whether additional testing opportunities will be available for those who missed out.
The Elden Ring: Nightreign Network Test: What to Expect
FromSoftware describes the network test as a "preliminary verification test" allowing selected players to experience a portion of the game before launch. The primary goal is to conduct large-scale network load tests to assess server capacity and stability under heavy player load.
The Elden Ring: Nightreign Network Test will run from February 14th to 16th, 2025, offering five 3-hour test sessions:
- Session 1 - February 14th, 3 AM - 6 AM PT
- Session 2 - February 14th, 7 PM - 10 PM PT
- Session 3 - February 15th, 11 AM - 2 PM PT
- Session 4 - February 16th, 3 AM - 6 AM PT
- Session 5 - February 16th, 7 PM - 10 PM PT
Beware: Scammers and Scalpers Target Eager Players
Reports of a Steam-based scam targeting Elden Ring: Nightreign Network Test participants are circulating. These malicious invites redirect users to phishing sites, compromising accounts and spreading the scam via mass messages to friends lists. FromSoftware emphasizes that legitimate invitations originate only from their official website and social media channels.
Adding insult to injury, scalpers are already attempting to profit from the limited access. Despite codes not being distributed until February 11th, listings for "confirmed test codes" are appearing on various online marketplaces, with exorbitant prices ranging from $150 to $200, and some even being auctioned.
Elden Ring: Nightreign, initially announced during the Game Awards 2024, is slated for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in 2025. While a precise release date remains unannounced, stay tuned to our Elden Ring: Nightreign page for the latest updates.
