Atomfall: A New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England
Rebellion Developments' upcoming first-person survival game, Atomfall, receives an extensive gameplay showcase. Set in an alternate 1960s England devastated by nuclear war, Atomfall promises a compelling blend of survival mechanics and combat reminiscent of titles like Fallout and STALKER.
The recently released seven-minute trailer highlights key gameplay elements. Players will explore diverse environments, ranging from quarantined zones and desolate villages to mysterious research bunkers. Resource scavenging is crucial for survival, as players face threats from hostile robots, fanatical cultists, and the hazardous environment itself.
Combat in Atomfall incorporates both melee and ranged options. While the trailer initially reveals a limited arsenal (cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle), it emphasizes weapon upgrade systems and hints at a wider variety of firearms to discover. Crafting plays a significant role, allowing players to create essential healing items and tactical tools such as Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting materials.
Character progression is facilitated through unlockable skills categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning. These skills, acquired via training manuals, will allow players to customize their approach to the challenges Atomfall presents.
Launching March 27th on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, Atomfall will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Rebellion plans to release a further in-depth video soon, so fans should stay tuned for more information.
