Marvel Rivals Season 1 Unveils the Mystical Sanctum Sanctorum Map
Marvel Rivals' Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, introduces a thrilling new map: the Sanctum Sanctorum! This iconic location will host the game's new Doom Match mode, a chaotic free-for-all battle royale for 8-12 players where the top half emerges victorious.
Beyond the Sanctum Sanctorum, Season 1 also expands the game's world with Midtown and Central Park. Midtown will be the stage for a new convoy mission, while Central Park's debut is slated for a major mid-season update.
A recent video showcased the Sanctum Sanctorum's unique design, blending opulent décor with surreal elements. Expect floating cookware, a bizarre refrigerator inhabitant (a squid-like creature, perhaps?), winding staircases, levitating bookshelves, and powerful artifacts – all within Doctor Strange's magically-infused home, complete with a cheerful portrait of the Sorcerer Supreme himself!
The trailer also offers a first look at Wong, a beloved character making his Marvel Rivals debut, and even Doctor Strange's spectral canine companion, Bats. The attention to detail is striking, even amidst the anticipated battle and mayhem.
This season's narrative pits the Fantastic Four against Dracula, who has trapped Doctor Strange. Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman join the fight at launch, with Human Torch and The Thing arriving in the mid-season update. The future of Marvel Rivals looks bright, filled with exciting new content and challenges.
