Pokemon GO Leaks: Dynamax Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno Raids Incoming!
A recent, quickly deleted tweet from the official Pokemon GO Saudi Arabia Twitter account has revealed a surprise: Dynamax Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno are slated to appear in Dynamax Raids from January 20th to February 3rd. This leak suggests the first legendary Dynamax Pokemon will soon grace Pokemon GO.
The Kanto legendary birds have always been fan favorites. Pokemon GO previously featured them (and their Shiny forms) in raids, and the Galarian trio even appeared in Daily Incense spawns (albeit with a lower rate) since 2023. Shiny Galarian versions have been available since October 2024. This upcoming Dynamax event marks yet another exciting iteration for these iconic Pokemon.
Reddit user nintendo101 first spotted the now-removed tweet. The hasty deletion might indicate an unintentional early reveal. The addition of Dynamax legendary birds could significantly boost the popularity of Max Raids, which have seen some player avoidance due to perceived difficulty.
This development hints at a potential influx of iconic legendary Dynamax Pokemon in future Max Raids. Given that Pokemon Sword and Shield featured Dynamax Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, and others, this seems a likely direction for Pokemon GO. However, the difficulty level of these legendary Dynamax Raids remains uncertain. Previous Max Raids faced criticism for their demanding player count (40 players per battle), and whether this will be an issue again is yet to be seen.
Meanwhile, Pokemon GO's 2025 event calendar is jam-packed. Niantic has confirmed a Community Day Classic featuring Ralts on January 25th, a Shadow Raid Day with Shadow Ho-Oh on January 19th (offering up to seven free Raid Passes), and the host cities for Pokemon GO Fest 2025 (Osaka, Jersey City, and Paris). The addition of Dynamax legendary birds promises to further enhance the excitement!
