Insomniac Games' Ted Price reveals a "wonderful" Resistance 4 concept that never materialized. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price, retiring after 30 years at the studio, shared that a pitch for Resistance 4 was unfortunately never greenlit.
While the concept was strong, Price attributed the game's cancellation to factors like timing and market conditions. He expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting the series' unique alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera alien antagonists.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, was developed by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation 3. Set in a 1951 UK invaded by aliens, the series concluded before Insomniac shifted focus to projects like the Marvel's Spider-Man franchise and newer Ratchet & Clank installments.
Price's retirement announcement earlier this year marked the end of his three-decade tenure. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as the studio's new Co-Studio Heads.
Insomniac Games' latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, with Marvel's Wolverine slated as their next major title.
