Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now open for pre-registration on iOS and Android! This Tencent-developed title marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market, boasting diverse missions, tactical gameplay, and a planned launch in late January 2025.
While the Delta Force franchise might be unfamiliar to some, its historical significance in FPS gaming predates even Call of Duty. Based on the renowned US military special forces unit, the game series has always emphasized realistic weaponry and gadgets.
Tencent's Level Infinite has masterfully revived the franchise. The game features Warfare mode, offering large-scale combat reminiscent of Battlefield, and Operations mode, which delves into the extraction shooter genre. A single-player campaign, heavily inspired by the 2001 film Black Hawk Down and the Battle of Mogadishu, is also slated for release in 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force hasn't been without controversy. The persistent issue of cheating in online shooters has been a major concern. Tencent's approach, while aiming to combat cheating aggressively, has drawn criticism for its perceived heavy-handedness. While their anti-cheat team, G.T.I. Security, is dedicated to the issue, restrictions imposed on PC hardware and software have been met with negative feedback.
While the mobile platform may present fewer cheating challenges, the PC-related controversies might still impact the game's overall reception. Nevertheless, the mobile version's potential remains high.
