Revue Starlight Re:LIVE's End of Service Announced
The curtain is falling on Revue Starlight Re:LIVE. The mobile game, based on the popular anime, will officially shut down its servers on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC. This marks the end of nearly six years of service on Android.
Reasons Behind the Closure
While not entirely unexpected, the announcement of Revue Starlight Re:LIVE's end of service is still bittersweet. The game, intended as a direct continuation of the anime's storyline, struggled to maintain player engagement over the past five and a half years. Factors contributing to its decline include repetitive events, reused assets, and costly battle passes. Furthermore, narrative choices, such as a sudden shift in storyline, negatively impacted player reception. The shutdown affects global servers, including Japan.
Positive Aspects of the Game
Despite its shortcomings, Revue Starlight Re:LIVE boasted a strong soundtrack featuring music from the anime, along with visually appealing 3D graphics and Live2D animations.
A Final Farewell
Although its time is limited, players still have several weeks to enjoy the game. Developers are launching special events in August and September to thank players. These include a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering ten free pulls daily, and a two-month birthday celebration featuring "New Stage Girl Gacha" events at the start of each month. Download the game from the Google Play Store to experience one last chapter before the servers close.
