Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 7: A Glimpse into Terrifying New Evil Endings
Larian Studios has unveiled a chilling preview of a new, dark ending coming in Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 7. A 52-second cinematic teaser on X (formerly Twitter) showcases the sinister consequences of a fully evil playthrough, focusing on the Dark Urge's descent into utter depravity.
Spoiler Alert!
The preview depicts a horrifying scene: the Dark Urge's companions witnessing their leader succumb to Bhaal's influence, seizing control of the Netherbrain. A chilling narration accompanies the Dark Urge's mind control over their companions, forcing them to meet their demise. The scene culminates with a grim statement: "Time for the final act. Your tragedy has become mankind's."
This is just one of several new evil endings promised in Larian's April community update, offering players even darker conclusions to their sinister playthroughs. These endings are accessible even without playing as the Dark Urge. Previously teased endings included the Dark Urge wading through a sea of blood and corpses, and a town consumed by "sheer mindless bliss" under the True Absolute's control.
What Else Awaits in Patch 7?
Patch 7 is a massive update, including more than just terrifying endings. Expect a dynamic split-screen mode for co-op gameplay, heightened challenges in Honour Mode, and the highly anticipated modding toolkit, empowering players to craft their own content.
Larian Studios has confirmed that this is not the end for Baldur's Gate 3. With future plans including crossplay and photo mode, the developers remain committed to enhancing the game based on player feedback.
Currently in closed beta, Patch 7 is slated for release this September. While the exact date remains undisclosed, players can register on the Steam store page for a chance to participate in early access. Larian's dedication to refining Baldur's Gate 3 into a definitive role-playing experience is evident, solidifying its position as a genre masterpiece.
