Fueling the fire of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater remake rumors, Singapore's rating board has listed "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4" for a 2025 release. This rumored remake, encompassing the next two mainline entries in the series, is slated for a wide range of platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
While official confirmation remains elusive, a countdown timer within Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hints at upcoming Tony Hawk's Pro Skater news, culminating on March 4, 2025. Adding to the speculation, Tony Hawk himself revealed on Mythical Kitchen that he's been in discussions with Activision, working on a project he describes as something fans will truly appreciate.
The success of the 2020 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 remake made a sequel seemingly inevitable. However, the 2021 absorption of Vicarious Visions, the original remake developer, into Blizzard presented a significant hurdle. According to Hawk, plans to tackle 3+4 were in place until Vicarious Visions' integration, forcing Activision to seek a new development team.
Hawk explained in a 2022 Twitch livestream that Activision struggled to find a developer they trusted as much as Vicarious Visions. After soliciting pitches from various studios, they ultimately found none that met their standards.
The mystery remains: who's developing this seemingly imminent Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 remake? The Singaporean ratings board lists only Activision as both publisher and developer. All eyes are on March 4th for further revelations.
