Star Wars: Hunters has announced its shutdown before even reaching its first year, yet it will have the chance to celebrate its one-year anniversary before the final curtain call. The question lingers: is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game on its way out? Let's dive into the details.
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
The servers are set to go offline on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the road for Star Wars: Hunters just nine months after its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5, as it concludes on that date.Zynga, both the developer and publisher, is rolling out one last content update on April 15th. This update will introduce Tuya, a new Support Hunter, available for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled.
Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers shut down, and events from the season will be rerun. If you have any unspent Crystals, now's the time to use them, as there will be no refunds offered.
It Isn’t Shocking
The closure of Star Wars: Hunters might not come as a surprise to many. The game faced numerous challenges right from the start. Announced back in 2020, it suffered multiple delays, with beta tests limited to the SEA and ANZAC regions.A delayed launch, the absence of support for major consoles, and a tepid reception contributed to its downfall. Even the game's design choices were questionable. Despite the rich universe of Star Wars filled with iconic characters, the developers opted for generic original characters instead of tapping into the galaxy's beloved legends.
If you've uninstalled the game but are tempted to return for one last adventure, it's still available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown.
