The PC version of the game not only boasts significantly superior visuals compared to its PS5 counterpart but also offers a more stable performance. This has sparked a lively discussion within the gaming community about the urgent need for an update to enhance the PS5 experience. Currently, players on the PS5 are experiencing blurry visuals when using performance mode, leaving base console owners eagerly anticipating future patches. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has acknowledged that improvements are feasible within the technical constraints of the platform, stating, “After releasing the promo for the PC version, we received a lot of requests for a similar update for the PS5 version, and I think we'd like to do it at some point within the limits of what's possible with the PS5 version's performance.” Fans are hopeful that Square Enix will respond to these requests and elevate the visual quality on consoles.
While the development team is diligently working on the sequel, Hamaguchi has asked the community for patience, promising more details in the future. He highlighted that 2024 was a successful year for Final Fantasy Rebirth, the second installment of the trilogy, which garnered attention and awards worldwide. Looking ahead, the third installment of Final Fantasy VII presents unique challenges as the developers strive to expand the game's fan base. Interestingly, Hamaguchi also expressed his admiration for Grand Theft Auto VI this year, acknowledging the immense pressure on the Rockstar Games team following the phenomenal success of GTA V. He expressed his support for their efforts.
