Fans of the web-slinging hero have reason to celebrate as Disney+'s animated series, "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man," which chronicles Peter Parker's first year in high school, has been renewed for both Season 2 and Season 3. In an exciting revelation on The Movie Podcast, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming, television, and animation, shared that the scripts for Season 2 are complete, and half of its animated storyboards are already finished, even though Season 1 is set to premiere tomorrow, January 29. Additionally, Season 3 has been greenlit, demonstrating Marvel's strong commitment to the series.
Winderbaum expressed his deep affection for the characters and the narrative crafted by lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell. "I've fallen so head over heels in love with these characters and I've now read all of the scripts for Season 2; we're halfway through the animatics," he stated. He emphasized the meticulous development of the show, noting that the groundwork laid in Season 1 sets the stage for a rewarding payoff as the series progresses. "What [Jeff Trammell] is building brick by brick in this show starts to pay off. And you feel it in Season 1. You grow connected to these characters so that when everything starts to lock into place and pay off by the end of the season. I feel it in my very soul and it just gets deeper and deeper in subsequent seasons."

While it's not confirmed whether Season 2 will cover his sophomore year and Season 3 his junior year, or if the series will continue to focus on his freshman adventures, the enthusiasm from Marvel suggests a rich storytelling future for this beloved character.
