New Pokémon Sleep Companions: Sneasel and Weavile
Pokémon Sleep players are in for a treat! As of December 3rd, 2024, Sneasel and Weavile are now available to befriend. This guide explains how to add these icy newcomers to your team.
Where to Find Sneasel and Weavile
Given their dual Ice/Dark typing in the main series games, you might expect Sneasel and Weavile to be found in cold environments. In Pokémon Sleep, however, they're classified as Dark-type Pokémon. You can find them in two locations:
- Snowdrop Tundra: Their primary habitat, reflecting their icy nature.
- Greengrass Isle: Surprisingly, these Pokémon also appear on the starter island, making them accessible to all players regardless of game progress.
If you're currently researching on a different island, use an EZ Travel Ticket to switch to Snowdrop Tundra or Greengrass Isle for a better chance of encountering them.
Sleep Types and Evolution
Both Sneasel and Weavile share the "Dozing" sleep type. Increasing your chances of encountering them requires setting your sleep type to Dozing for the night.
Sneasel is the easier of the two to find initially. Evolving it into Weavile requires 80 Sneasel Candy and a Razor Claw. However, even after evolution, you'll still need to encounter Weavile in the wild to collect Sleep Research data.
Are Sneasel and Weavile Good for Your Team?
Sneasel's value lies in its berry-gathering abilities. As a Dark-type, it collects Wiki Berries, particularly useful in its native Snowdrop Tundra. It also provides a "Tasty Chance S" skill, boosting the deliciousness of your in-game dishes. Its ingredient requirements include sought-after items, making a well-provisioned Sneasel a valuable asset.
Here's a summary of Sneasel/Weavile's attributes:
Speciality | Ingredients | Main Skill |
---|---|---|
Wiki Berries | Bean Sausage, Fancy Egg, Greengrass Soybeans | Tasty Chance S |
