Pokémon Gold and Silver, developed by Game Freak and released in 1999 for the Game Boy Color, garnered widespread acclaim for their groundbreaking features. These games introduced a dynamic in-game time system, which tracks the current time and day of the week, influencing the appearance of certain Pokémon and game events. Additionally, Gold and Silver expanded the Pokémon universe with the introduction of 100 new species, known as Gen 2 Pokémon, including Pichu, Cleffa, Hoothoot, Chikorita, Umbreon, Ho-Oh, Lugia, and many others. The legacy of these games continued with the 10th anniversary remakes, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, released for the Nintendo DS in 2009.
