Netflix Announces Movie Based on Hit Game Sifu: Chad Stahelski and T.S. Nowlin Join the Project

Netflix partners with Sifu creators for a big-screen adaptation. The project, initially announced in 2022, is expanding its production team. Deadline reports that Story Kitchen and Sloclap (the game's developer) are joined by a significant number of new collaborators.

T.S. Nowlin, known for the Maze Runner series and Netflix's Project Adam, will write the screenplay. Derek Kolstad's involvement, while previously confirmed, is currently unclear.

Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick franchise, and his company 87Eleven Entertainment will executive produce. Stahelski is also involved in the Ghost of Tsushima adaptation.

The 2022 release of Sifu was a major success, selling over a million copies in its first three weeks. The game centers on a martial artist seeking revenge for their murdered master, utilizing a mystical pendant for resurrection at the cost of accelerated aging. The protagonist's journey is fraught with peril and mystery.
