While battling monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is thrilling, capturing them is crucial for acquiring all the monster parts needed for crafting powerful armor. This requires Trap Tools, and obtaining them isn't always obvious. Here's how to get your hands on them.
Where to Get Trap Tools in *Monster Hunter Wilds*
Unlike some crafting components, *Monster Hunter Wilds* doesn't explicitly guide you to Trap Tools. However, for veterans of the series, this will feel familiar. You acquire Trap Tools by purchasing them from the Provisions Stockpiler NPC located at your Base Camp. Simply talk to him, browse his inventory, and you'll find Trap Tools available for 200 Zenny each. It's wise to stock up, particularly if you're focused on farming specific monsters or aiming to capture every creature in the game.
Importantly, Base Camp is the *only* place to obtain Trap Tools; they cannot be found in the wild like other resources.
How to Use Trap Tools
Now that you've acquired your Trap Tools, let's learn how to use them effectively. Combine them with a Net (using Spiderweb or Ivy) to create a Pitfall Trap, or with a Thunderbug Capacitor to craft a Shock Trap. While both traps are effective, remember that certain monsters are immune to specific traps. For example, a Shock Trap is useless against Rey Dau, a lightning dragon. In such cases, opt for the Pitfall Trap instead.
A crucial detail: you can only carry one trap at a time. Use them strategically when the monster is weakened for maximum success.
