As the Sweet Discoveries event winds down, Pokémon Go enthusiasts have a new reason to celebrate with the Crown Clash event, scheduled from May 10th to 18th. This regal occasion brings the debut of Kingambit, the Big Blade Pokémon, along with costumed versions of Nidoqueen and Nidoking adorned with crowns. The event promises a host of rewards, including bonus XP for evolving Pokémon, making it the perfect time to bolster your team.
To add Kingambit to your roster, you'll need to evolve a Bisharp. However, there's a unique requirement: Bisharp must be set as your buddy, and you need to defeat 15 Dark- or Steel-type Pokémon in Raid Battles. Bisharp doesn't have to battle itself; just take it along and claim those victories.
The event also introduces costumed Nidoqueen and Nidoking, both sporting shiny new crowns. You might even encounter their Shiny variants if luck is on your side. These royal Pokémon will headline three-star raids, while one-star raids will feature Sneasel, Klink, and Pawniard.
In the wild, you'll encounter frequent spawns like Slowpoke (which might yield a King's Rock), Slakoth, Piplup, Combee, Snivy, and Litleo. Keep an eye out for Pawniard, which will appear more often during the event.

With double XP for evolving Pokémon, it's an excellent opportunity to tackle your evolution backlog. Event-themed Field Research tasks and a catch-and-evolve Collection Challenge will offer additional XP, Stardust, and chances to encounter Pawniard. Trainers at Level 31 and above can earn guaranteed Candy XL for evolutions upon completing the challenge.
PokéStops will host event-themed Showcases, allowing you to display your crown-worthy catches. And to enhance your event experience, the Pokémon Go Web Store offers a range of deals to help you prepare for the Crown Clash event.
