Netmarble's popular action RPG, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, is set to conclude its run on October 30th, 2024. This announcement, recently posted on Netmarble's official forums, marks the end of over six years of intense fighting game action and numerous high-profile crossovers.
The in-game store has already been closed as of June 26th, 2024, ending the opportunity for further in-app purchases. While the game enjoyed considerable success, boasting millions of downloads and positive player feedback praising its animations and PvP battles, the developers hinted at a potential shortage of characters to adapt as a contributing factor to the closure. However, this is likely only part of the story, with other undisclosed reasons likely at play. Recent optimization issues and crashes also contributed to player frustration.
