Insomniac Co-Head Shares The Future Of The Company

Holding On To Marvel’s Wolverine Updates

Marvel's Wolverine Not Included in Recent Roadmap from Insomniac Games
Insomniac Games recently shared their ambitious roadmap for the future, yet they chose to keep fans waiting for updates on their eagerly awaited title, Marvel’s Wolverine. In a candid interview with Variety, Co-Head Chad Dezern expressed enthusiasm about the new teams working on exciting projects but remained tight-lipped about any new developments or a potential 2025 release for Marvel’s Wolverine.

"As much as we have pent-up excitement, we've got to hold on to it," Dezern remarked, hinting at the studio's cautious approach to sharing updates.

Marvel’s Wolverine First Announced in 2021

Marvel’s Wolverine was unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase 2021 with a captivating cinematic teaser trailer, confirming its development exclusively for the PlayStation 5. In a 2023 interview with the YouTube group Kinda Funny, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s Creative Director Bryan Intihar confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine shares the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man, both set in the 1048 universe. Although fans hoped for crossover events or joint teasers, the only nod so far has been a Wolverine-themed suit named "The Best There Is" available for Miles Morales in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

In December 2023, Insomniac Games faced a significant challenge with a ransomware attack that temporarily exposed Marvel’s Wolverine’s development assets and gameplay footage to the public.
