Iconic Bethesda Voice Actor of Skyrim, Fallout 3, and More Shares Heartfelt Message Amid Recovery

Author : Chloe Update:Mar 18,2025

Beloved Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his work in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and countless other titles, has shared a moving message of gratitude following a serious health scare. Last week, he was found “barely alive” in his Atlanta hotel room, where he was attending a benefit event for the National Alzheimer’s Association.

A video posted to a GoFundMe page—which has already raised an astounding $174,653 to cover his medical expenses and other bills—reveals that Johnson was in a coma. In the video, he expresses his overwhelming appreciation for the outpouring of support: "I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there, and I'm grateful to each and every one of you."

The incident unfolded after Johnson, who also serves as a Washington Capitals announcer, arrived in Atlanta and failed to appear at the scheduled event. His wife, Kim Johnson, contacted the hotel, prompting a security response and the arrival of EMTs who found him with a barely perceptible pulse.

"Rumors of my demise, well, they weren't exaggerated. It was very close, very close. But I'm still here," Johnson shared. He credits his wife's quick thinking and the actions of his son, who contacted hotel security, with saving his life. He spent five days in a coma before learning about the GoFundMe campaign organized by his dear friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker, and his wife Kim.

Johnson extended heartfelt thanks to the National Alzheimer’s Association for supporting his family during this difficult time, to Ted Leonsis, chairman of the Washington Capitals parent company, for his generous $25,000 donation, and to Glasser and Elliker for their tireless efforts. He also expressed deep gratitude to Bethesda, who publicly voiced their support, stating, "You say that I'm your friend. I am. Always will be. Love you guys." Finally, he offered a message of love and reassurance to his fans: "I love you all. I'm not going anywhere. It's going to be a while as I work my way back, but I'm coming back. I look forward to seeing and hearing you all then. Cheers."

Johnson’s extensive voice acting credits span film, television, and video games, but he's particularly recognized for his contributions to Bethesda titles. His memorable roles include Ron Hope in Starfield, Prince of Madness Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, three Daedric Princes (Boethiah, Malacath, and Molag Bal) in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others.
