Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 Offers Free 4-Star Character Selection

Summary

  • A leak suggests that Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will introduce a free 4-star character selector event, allowing players to choose from four units.
  • The leaked characters for selection are Qingque, Pela, Serval, and Asta, all of which debuted in the game's 1.0 cycle.
  • The trend of releasing more 5-star characters might mean fewer new 4-star units in upcoming updates.

A new leak has surfaced regarding Honkai: Star Rail's upcoming Version 3.1, which is set to feature an exciting free 4-star character selector event. As the game progresses into its 3.0 cycle, players can look forward to a variety of new gameplay features and characters.

Currently, Honkai: Star Rail boasts 23 4-star characters, each with their unique abilities and roles within the game's meta. While some of these characters may not rank at the top of the meta, they can still be highly beneficial in various team compositions. Recent additions such as Moze and Gallagher have quickly become favorites due to their versatility. To maximize the potential of these 4-star units, higher Eidolon levels are often necessary. Previous updates, including Versions 2.1 and 2.7, offered players opportunities to easily obtain these Eidolons through free character selectors. According to a new leak from the community leaker HomDGCat, Version 3.1 will continue this trend with a limited-time event featuring a selector that includes four characters: Qingque, Pela, Serval, and Asta.

Here are the details of the characters included in the rumored selector:

  • Qingque: Quantum, Erudition
  • Pela: Ice, Nihility
  • Serval: Lightning, Erudition
  • Asta: Fire, Harmony

While Pela and Asta have maintained their status as reliable support characters since their debut, Qingque and Serval have been outshined by newer DPS units. It's worth noting that all these characters can also be purchased through the in-game store. The game's trend of favoring 5-star releases over 4-star units has been evident since the Penacony update, with nearly 40 five-star characters now available. Rumors suggest that eight more 5-star characters are planned for the Amphoreus update, alongside a crossover with Fate/Stay Night that might introduce two additional 5-star characters.

During the 2.0 cycle, only four new 4-star characters were introduced, including an alternate form of March 7th. If the current leak holds true, the scarcity of new 4-star units could limit the options for future character selectors. Nevertheless, players should stay tuned for Version 3.0, which promises the addition of The Herta and Aglaea. To prepare for upcoming pulls, Honkai: Star Rail has recently released new redeem codes offering free Stellar Jades and other materials.
