Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 is generating significant buzz, and fans are eagerly awaiting its release. Ned Luke, the voice actor behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, has shared his insights and predictions, offering a glimpse into what might be expected from the highly anticipated sequel.
Rockstar Games To Do Something Unexpected For GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Expects GTA 6 to Make $1.3 Billion On Its First Day
In a recent interview with the YouTube channel Fall Damage, Ned Luke confidently predicted that GTA 6 will rake in an astounding $1.3 billion on its launch day. Reflecting on the success of GTA 5, which earned over $800 million within its first 24 hours back in 2013, Luke believes that GTA 6 will surpass these figures significantly.
He emphasized patience among fans, stating, "What I tell people is, be patient. It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." This reassurance comes as fans continue to speculate on the game's features and development progress.
According to DFC Intelligence, GTA 6 is projected to sell over 40 million copies and generate $3.2 billion in its debut year, with $1 billion expected from pre-orders alone. These numbers underscore the immense anticipation surrounding the game.
The Future Of GTA 5 Characters In GTA 6
Luke also touched upon the possibility of GTA 5 characters reappearing in future titles. While his character, Michael, has not featured in GTA Online since its inception, other protagonists like Trevor and Franklin have made appearances. Luke hinted at the potential for Michael to return in a speculated final DLC for GTA Online or even in GTA 6 itself.
Steven Ogg, who voiced Trevor, shared his ideal scenario with ScreenRant in January 2025, suggesting a dramatic "passing the torch" moment for his character at the beginning of GTA 6.
Luke remained cryptic about the characters' involvement, saying, "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy." As of now, no official announcements have confirmed the return of these beloved characters in GTA 6.
GTA 6 May Be At Its Testing Phase
Former Rockstar Games Animator Mike York provided insights into the current development stage of GTA 6. In a now-deleted video interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz, as reported by GamesRadar, York suggested that GTA 6 is currently in its in-house testing phase.
York highlighted the game's unpredictability, stating, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't." He believes that the game is nearing completion, with testers likely having already experienced it.
Despite the excitement, Rockstar Games has kept details under wraps since the initial trailer release in December 2023. While a Fall 2025 release has been speculated based on Take-Two Interactive’s Financial Report in 2024, no specific release date has been officially announced.
