In the thrilling co-op horror game, R.E.P.O., your primary objective is clear: retrieve valuable items and survive the terrifying ordeal. This isn't a walk in the park; a horde of monsters lurks, randomly spawning to hinder your progress. Successfully escaping with your loot intact, however, rewards you handsomely, providing crucial funds to acquire essential survival gear. The menacing AI Taxman oversees these transactions, ensuring a fair (though frightening) exchange.
Successfully extracting valuable items involves locating and reaching the Extraction Point. Here, your hard-earned C.A.R.T. of treasures is tallied, and the Taxman allows you to proceed to the Service Station—hopefully with a healthy bankroll to spend on upgrades.
As you progress through R.E.P.O., the extraction process becomes second nature. What initially seems daunting quickly transforms into routine as you overcome increasingly challenging levels and monstrous encounters.
How to Extract in R.E.P.O.
Your first R.E.P.O. run features a single Extraction Point. As you advance to new locations, this number increases, currently capping at four. A handy red number in the top right corner of your screen keeps track of the remaining drop-offs and those already completed.
Initially, the Extraction Point is conveniently located near your R.E.P.O. truck—a constant you can always rely on for your first haul. Subsequent drop-offs, however, become more unpredictable. After your first successful drop, the Taxman's demands and the location of the next Extraction Point remain unknown. This is where your in-game map becomes invaluable. Pressing "Tab" reveals unexplored areas, facilitating route planning and coordinated efforts with teammates, allowing for efficient map coverage.
The next Extraction Point's location becomes apparent either visually or audibly upon entering its vicinity. Once located, press the large red button to initiate the assessment. The Taxman will then determine if you've collected enough. If successful, place your C.A.R.T. within the designated grey area to prevent item destruction. Repeat this process for each Extraction Point. Note that after the final drop-off, you don't need to return the C.A.R.T. to the truck; a new one will appear at the next location.
