Gearbox has officially confirmed the release date for Borderlands 4.
During the recent State of Play presentation, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford announced that Borderlands 4 will launch on September 23, 2025. To mark this occasion, Gearbox unveiled a new trailer showcasing exciting gameplay additions.
A standout feature revealed in the trailer is the addition of a grappling hook. However, fans of the series' signature over-the-top weaponry, explosive action, and chaotic mayhem will find plenty to anticipate.To further celebrate the upcoming release, Gearbox also announced a dedicated Borderlands 4-themed State of Play presentation, premiering this spring. This special showcase will offer an extended look at gameplay and a deeper dive into the game's arsenal of weaponry.
While story details remain scarce, the lead writer hinted that the previous installment may have over-relied on "toilet humor." Whether Borderlands 4 adopts a more serious tone remains to be seen.
