Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios unveil a new chapter in the Avatar universe: Avatar: Seven Havens. This exciting announcement coincides with the franchise's 20th anniversary, celebrated by creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.
Avatar: Seven Havens, a 26-episode 2D animated series, introduces a new Avatar, a young Earthbender, succeeding Korra. The series is set in a post-apocalyptic world, ravaged by a catastrophic event. This young Avatar is not seen as a savior, but rather a harbinger of destruction, hunted by both human and spirit forces. Forced to confront her mysterious origins alongside her long-lost twin, she must protect the Seven Havens before they are lost forever.
DiMartino and Konietzko shared their excitement, stating that the new series is filled with fantasy, mystery, and a fresh roster of captivating characters. The series will be structured into two 13-episode seasons, "Book 1" and "Book 2." Executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi join the creators in bringing this vision to life. Casting details are yet to be revealed.
This marks Avatar Studios' first major television series. Simultaneously, they are developing a feature-length animated film centered on an adult Aang, slated for a theatrical release on January 30, 2026.
The 20th-anniversary celebration extends beyond Seven Havens, encompassing a range of new merchandise, including books, comics, concerts, toys, and a Roblox game.
