The timing couldn’t be better, with the Amazon Spring Sale in full swing, offering a plethora of hot sets to grab while supplies last. My willpower crumbled faster than a 60 HP Basic facing a 390-damage Hydreigon ex.

My favorite? This Surging Sparks set is chaos in the best way possible. It features chase cards that are worth slabbing, like the $432 Pikachu ex Special Illustration Rare. No, that’s not a typo. Pikachu isn’t just a collectible gem; it’s a powerhouse in battle. Topaz Bolt can clear almost any opponent, while Resolute Heart makes it tough to knock out.

It seems big sibling energy comes with a higher price tag. Meanwhile, Milotic ex is out here channeling its inner supermodel with dramatic light and shadow, and it also counters Tera Pokémon like a meta card.

My personal favorite? Ceruledge. It’s giving neon fever dreams, and I mean that as a compliment. This is the first time its card has been valuable, and I think illustrator Rond deserves a standing ovation—or at least a coffee. Ceruledge isn’t even a top-tier Pokémon competitively, but with this art, I couldn’t care less.

The bundle includes six booster packs, so you’re not guaranteed any heavy hitters, but with the rate at which people are snapping these up, I wouldn't wait too long. Pikachu isn’t going to pull itself.
