Fans of the iconic 1995 film *Clueless* are in for a treat as Alicia Silverstone is set to don Cher Horowitz's unforgettable yellow and plaid once again. According to Variety, Silverstone will reprise her role in a new sequel series for Peacock, which is currently in development. While plot specifics remain under wraps, it's confirmed that the series will continue the story from the original film. This project marks a fresh take, distinct from Peacock's previously planned Clueless spin-off in 2020.
The creative team behind this much-anticipated series includes Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, known for their work on the original *Gossip Girl* and its reboot, who will write the series alongside Jordan Weiss. Together, they will also executive produce the show, joined by Amy Heckerling, the original writer-director of *Clueless*, and Robert Lawrence, the film's original producer. CBS Studios and Universal Television are on board to produce this exciting new venture.
This isn't the first time *Clueless* has made the leap to the small screen. After the film's success, a television adaptation aired on ABC and UPN from 1996 to 1999, with Rachel Blanchard taking on the role of Cher. However, Silverstone's recent return as Cher in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten shows her readiness to step back into the beloved character's shoes, much to the delight of fans everywhere.
