HoYoverse's mobile hit, Zenless Zone Zero, continues its impressive market performance. The recent 1.4 update, titled "And the Starfall Came," propelled daily player spending on mobile to a record-breaking $8.6 million, surpassing even the game's initial launch revenue in July 2024.
AppMagic data reveals Zenless Zone Zero's mobile revenue has already exceeded $265 million. Update 1.4's success is attributed to the introduction of new characters, Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa (the latter offered free to all players), along with enhanced gameplay mechanics, new environments, and game modes. The Hoshimi Miyabi banner proved particularly lucrative.
Remarkably, the 1.4 update sustained player engagement far beyond typical post-update trends. Daily revenue remained above $1 million for over 11 consecutive days, and even after two weeks, daily revenue stayed above $500,000. This extended period of high spending is a testament to the update's success.
While undeniably successful, Zenless Zone Zero's revenue still lags behind HoYoverse's other flagship titles, Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.
