Xbox Game Pass introduces Quests and enhanced Rewards for PC users, exclusively for players 18 and older, starting January 7th. This update offers daily, weekly, and monthly quest opportunities to earn points, including the return of weekly streaks. Players can earn points by playing any Game Pass title for at least 15 minutes, but access to these new features is restricted to those 18 and above.
Microsoft's changes aim to create age-appropriate gaming experiences. Previously exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Quests are now available to PC Game Pass subscribers. Players 18 and older with active Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscriptions can access Quests and the Rewards Hub through their profile. Points are earned through gameplay (minimum 15 minutes) of Game Pass catalog titles, excluding those with third-party launchers.
Key Game Pass Quests and Rewards Updates:
- Quests accessible to PC Game Pass members from January 7th.
- New Quest Types:
- Daily Play: Earn 10 points daily for 15 minutes of gameplay.
- Weekly Streaks: Points increase based on consecutive days played (5 days minimum). Maintaining a streak for multiple weeks yields greater point multipliers (2x for 2 weeks, 3x for 3 weeks, 4x for 4+ weeks).
- Monthly 4-Pack: Play four different games (15 minutes each) for a reward.
- Monthly 8-Pack: Play eight different games (15 minutes each), with the 4-Pack games counting towards this.
- PC Weekly Bonus: 150 points for playing at least 15 minutes for five or more days.
- Rewards Hub Access Restriction: The Rewards Hub (on Xbox console, Windows PC app, and mobile app) is no longer accessible to players under 18.
The updated system simplifies point earning with daily, weekly, and monthly opportunities and the return of weekly streaks. Maintaining weekly streaks multiplies earned points significantly. Daily points are earned through any Game Pass title, and monthly packs incentivize exploring the catalog.
Players 18 and older receive a new PC weekly bonus. Microsoft emphasizes its commitment to age-appropriate experiences, excluding those under 18 from these new rewards. Younger players can only earn rewards through parental purchases of eligible items from the Microsoft Store. This update provides enhanced ways for eligible players to enjoy their Game Pass subscription.
