Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still under development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.
This follows a string of recent issues for Warzone, including a temporary server outage and ongoing problems with cheating and bugs. The latest glitch, reported on January 6th, caused games to freeze or crash while loading, leading to player frustration and complaints about unwarranted Skill Rating (SR) penalties and timeouts.
In response to player outrage, Raven Software announced on January 9th a temporary suspension of SR penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses the unintended consequences of the bug while maintaining penalties for players who leave matches in progress.
Although this mitigates the immediate impact, the underlying bug remains unfixed. This continues a pattern of ongoing issues despite a major update in early January 2025. While the temporary fix provides some relief, the persistent bugs and disruptions to Ranked play remain a concern for players. The development team is actively working on a permanent solution.
