Stardew Valley: A Comprehensive Guide to Crystalariums
Stardew Valley offers more than just farming; players strive for profit, and gemstones are valuable assets beyond their aesthetic appeal. They're useful in crafting and make excellent gifts. However, mining for rare gemstones can be time-consuming. This is where the Crystalarium shines. This remarkable device allows players to multiply gemstones and minerals. This guide details its use, updated for the latest game version (1.6).
Acquiring a Crystalarium
To craft a Crystalarium, players need level 9 Mining skill. The required materials are:
- 99 Stone: Easily obtained by breaking rocks on your farm or in the Mines.
- 5 Gold Bars: Smelt Gold Ore (found at mine levels 80 and below) using a Furnace and Coal.
- 2 Iridium Bars: Mine Iridium in Skull Cavern or obtain it daily from the Statue of Perfection. Smelt using a Furnace and Coal.
- 1 Battery Pack: Place lightning rods outside during thunderstorms; they'll collect charged Battery Packs.
Alternatively, players can obtain a Crystalarium without crafting:
- Community Center Bundle: Complete the 25,000g bundle in the Vault section.
- Museum Donation: Donate at least 50 minerals (gemstones or geodes) to the Museum.
Utilizing the Crystalarium
Place your Crystalarium anywhere – indoors or outdoors. The Quarry is a popular choice for mass production.
The Crystalarium replicates any mineral or gemstone (except Prismatic Shards). Quartz has the shortest growth time but low value. Diamonds, while taking 5 days, offer the highest profit.
To relocate or change the gem inside: hit the Crystalarium with an axe or pickaxe to retrieve it (the current gem will also drop). To switch gems, simply interact with the machine while holding the desired gem; the old gem will be ejected.
By using Crystalariums, players can significantly boost their profits and strengthen relationships with Pelican Town's residents through thoughtful gifting.
