Rumor: Beloved Nintendo 64 Exclusive Coming to Modern Consoles

Doom 64's potential arrival on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles is hinted at by a recent ESRB rating update. While Bethesda and id Software remain silent, this update strongly suggests an imminent release.

The 1997 Nintendo 64 classic, Doom 64, received a 2020 upgrade for PS4 and Xbox One, boasting enhanced visuals and a new level. This ESRB listing now includes PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions, a strong indicator of a forthcoming release. Such ratings are typically submitted close to launch, and past instances show the ESRB revealing games before official announcements (e.g., Felix the Cat's 2023 re-release).
