Ananta: NetEase's Open-World RPG Unveiled
NetEase Games and Naked Rain have officially revealed the title of their previously enigmatic Project Mugen: Ananta. A new PV and teaser trailer showcase gameplay and offer a more detailed look at this urban, open-world RPG.
The preview video highlights Nova City, a sprawling cityscape serving as the game's setting. It features a diverse cast of characters facing a looming threat from otherworldly forces of Chaos.
While comparisons to MiHoYo's titles, particularly Zenless Zone Zero, are inevitable, Ananta distinguishes itself, especially in its movement mechanics. The PV showcases impressive traversal capabilities, raising questions about the extent of free-roaming exploration within Nova City – whether movement will be confined to specific areas or allow for truly dynamic, Spider-Man-style traversal across the cityscape.
Ananta blends appealing character designs with dynamic combat, a formula popular in current 3D RPGs.
