Yukiko's Castle, the first major dungeon in Persona 4 Golden, presents a gradual difficulty curve. While early floors are manageable, later encounters introduce the formidable Magical Magus, a randomly appearing enemy. This guide details its weaknesses and effective strategies.
Magical Magus Weakness & Skills In Persona 4 Golden
The Magical Magus utilizes powerful fire-based attacks. Equipping fire-resistant accessories, obtainable from golden chests within Yukiko's Castle, is crucial for mitigation. These accessories also prove beneficial in the final boss battle.
The Magus's signature move, Agilao, a potent fire spell, often follows a charging animation. Employing the Guard command on the subsequent turn is highly recommended. While Hysterical Slap inflicts physical damage, Agilao poses the greater threat. Strategically, it's advisable for Chie and Yosuke to focus on guarding, while the protagonist, possessing early access to light-elemental skills, should take the offensive.
Early-Game Persona With A Light Skill In Persona 4 Golden
Archangel, a level 11 Persona, is the optimal early-game choice for its innate Hama skill. It also learns Media at level 12, a valuable healing spell for the final boss fight. Archangel can be fused using:
- Slime (Level 2)
- Forneus (Level 6)
Hama's instant-kill potential, effective against the Magus's light weakness, makes this encounter significantly easier. The high success rate of Hama often results in an immediate victory. Farming the Magus for experience is viable, provided sufficient SP recovery items are available or if a slightly under-leveled approach to the final boss is acceptable.
