MGS Master Collection Vol. 2: MGS4 Remake on the Horizon?
In a recent IGN interview, Konami producer Noriaki Okamura alluded to the possibility of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) being remade and included in MGS Master Collection Vol. 2, alongside ports for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. While acknowledging the fervent fan anticipation, Okamura remained elusive about concrete details. He stated that Konami is "internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series," suggesting a decision is pending.
The possibility of an MGS4 PS5 port, and its inclusion in Vol. 2, has been a major topic of discussion among fans. The successful release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, featuring remastered versions of the first three games on various platforms, including PC and Switch, has fueled this speculation.
Further fueling the rumors, placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appeared on Konami's official timeline, hinting at their potential inclusion in Vol. 2. David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, also hinted at his involvement in an MGS4-related project, adding to the excitement.
Despite the mounting evidence, Konami has yet to officially confirm the contents of Master Collection Vol. 2 or any plans for an MGS4 remake. The wait continues.
