No Man's Sky: Your Guide to Finding, Farming, and Crafting Solanium
Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusive to planets with specific climates. This guide details how to acquire it, whether through direct gathering, efficient farming, or crafting.
Locating Solanium:
Unlike Frost Crystals, Solanium thrives on hot and arid planets. Before landing, use your starship scanner to identify planets with descriptions like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched." These usually indicate Solanium availability. Once on the planet, your Analysis Visor will pinpoint Solar Vines – tall, glowing rock-like structures. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. Phosphorus, often found on these planets, is a key ingredient in Solanium crafting, so gather it if possible.
Farming Solanium:
After progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines at your base. Use a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome, planting each vine with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. Hot planets allow direct ground planting. Allow approximately 16 real-time hours for growth before harvesting.
Crafting Solanium:
Several Refiner recipes create Solanium, mostly using Phosphorus (obtainable from hot planets or Galactic Trade Terminals). Here are the recipes:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (to increase Solanium)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note that all methods, including Sulphurine-based recipes, necessitate visiting a hot planet. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base is the most reliable way to ensure a steady Sulphurine supply.
