The popular Kinetic Blade, previously featured in Chapter 4 Season 2, returns to Fortnite Battle Royale in Chapter 6 Season 1, also known as Fortnite Hunters. This isn't the only Katana available; players can choose between the Kinetic Blade and the newly introduced Typhoon Blade.
This guide explains how to locate and utilize the Kinetic Blade, helping you decide if it's a superior choice to the Typhoon Blade.
How to Find the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite
The Kinetic Blade appears in both Battle Royale Build and Zero Build modes. It's found as floor loot or within standard and Rare chests.
Currently, the Kinetic Blade's drop rate seems relatively low. The absence of dedicated Kinetic Blade stands (unlike the Typhoon Blade) further reduces its discoverability.
How to Use the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite
The Kinetic Blade is a melee weapon enabling swift movement and surprising attacks.
Unlike the Typhoon Blade, which requires sprinting for increased speed, the Kinetic Blade utilizes a Dash Attack for a forward lunge, inflicting 60 damage upon impact. This dash can be performed up to three times before needing a recharge.
Alternatively, the Knockback Slash deals 35 damage and knocks back opponents. This can lead to fall damage and potential eliminations if the opponent is sent tumbling.
