FIFA, Konami Partner for FIFAe World Cup 2024

Konami and FIFA's unexpected esports collaboration: The FIFAe Virtual World Cup 2024!

This surprising partnership follows years of competition between FIFA and Konami's eFootball series. The FIFAe Virtual World Cup 2024 will be held on the eFootball platform.

In-Game Qualifiers Now Live on eFootball!

The tournament features two divisions: Console (PS4 and PS5) and Mobile. Eighteen countries are vying for the final spots: Brazil, Japan, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey.

Three-stage in-game qualifiers run from October 10th to 20th. National Nomination Phases for the 18 countries follow from October 28th to November 3rd.

The offline final round will conclude in late 2024; the exact date remains unannounced. Players outside the 18 eligible countries can still participate in qualifiers up to Round 3, earning rewards like 50 eFootball coins, 30,000 XP, and other in-game bonuses.

The Unexpected Alliance: FIFA and eFootball

This collaboration is particularly noteworthy given the long-standing rivalry between EA and Konami. EA's split with FIFA in 2022, reportedly due to a significant disagreement over licensing fees, led to the launch of EA Sports FC 24. This partnership marks a significant shift in the football gaming landscape.

Currently, eFootball offers a special event featuring a Bruno Fernandes design and an 8x match experience multiplier for faster Dream Team progression. Download eFootball from the Google Play Store to participate.
