This guide details how to get the Lady Vengeance sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2 after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.
Quick Links
After removing your Source collar, you'll find yourself on the Lady Vengeance. To set sail, you must find an unconventional method to control the ship. This involves exploring, interacting with NPCs, and finding key items. Ultimately, you need to access Magister Dallis' cabin and obtain the Ancient Empire Songbook.
Investigate Dead Bodies
Begin by searching the bodies of the magisters and ghosts on deck. A Sodden Diary on one corpse provides a password for a stateroom door. You can also obtain the password through a skill check with the northern stateroom door. Additionally, you'll need a Strange Gem to interact with the Portside Stateroom door. A magic mirror (south of the stateroom doors) allows respeccing characters, helpful for skill checks.
Find the Portside Stateroom Door
Using the password from the diary (or skill check), access the ship's quarters. Interact with the unconscious Bishop Alexander to find a Strange Gem within his regalia. Use this gem and the password on the southern stateroom door to enter Magister Dallis' cabin. This cabin also contains a hidden hatch with two dangerous ghosts and a Teleportation Prism.
Find the Songbook
Inside Dallis' cabin, speak with Tarquin and Dallis, exhausting their dialogue options. Locate the Ancient Empire Songbook on a pedestal. Reading it will reveal the song needed to move the ship. It's advisable to speak to all NPCs before proceeding, as interaction opportunities are lost once the ship sets sail.
Setting Sail
Return to the deck and inform Malady of the songbook. She'll ask you to sing the song to the ship. Locate the dragon figurine on the west side of the deck and interact with it, choosing the option to sing. The Lady Vengeance will begin moving. Be prepared for a challenging battle with powerful magisters immediately afterward. Ensure your party is adequately prepared.
